About Me – Daniel

Daniel

IT Specialist with a lifelong passion for technology

Intro.

I’ve been working with computers since the days of DOS and Windows 3.11. (For over 30 years) From early command-line systems to modern server platforms, Linux environments, and enterprise deployment tools like SCCM, IT has always been more than a job for me — it’s a craft, a curiosity, and a part of who I am.

My Journey in IT

My story in technology began with simple tools and blinking cursors. I followed the evolution of Windows through every generation, from DOS to Windows 11, and spent years working with server environments, networks, deployments, and large-scale troubleshooting.
As technology evolved, I moved deeper into enterprise systems — managing environments, automating tasks, and working with tools that keep entire organizations running efficiently.
I have studied extensive technical documentation and applied this knowledge in real workplace environments.
This includes learning new systems quickly, understanding complex technical requirements, and using documentation to support troubleshooting and solution development.

Technical Background

I’ve worked with a broad range of systems and tools, including:
  • Windows Server (multiple generations)
  • Windows SCCM / Endpoint Configuration Manager
(software deployment, imaging, patching, automation, asset management)
  • SQL and database environments
  • Network configuration & troubleshooting
  • RIS installations & deployment work
  • Red Hat / Linux systems
  • Kali Linux
  • HP-UX
  • And many other platforms over the years
This combination of experience gives me a strong ability to understand systems on both a technical and operational level.

How I Work

For me, IT is not just technical work. It’s:
Understanding what happens beneath the surface
Finding calm in logic, structure, and patterns
Blending creativity with precise problem-solving
Making systems behave — from a stubborn SCCM deployment to a misconfigured server
Whether it’s a server that won’t start, a database acting strangely, or a complex SCCM job that refuses to run, I enjoy digging deep and finding the real root cause.

Today

Five years ago, I had both COVID and a stroke and aphasia.
It changed everything.
And I worked hard and long— step by step — to come back.
During my recovery I continued learning, rebuilding my skills and confidence.
I practiced in Windows Server 2022, SQL Administration, Red Hat, and Kali Linux.
That journey strengthened not only my technical base, but also my mindset.
I continue to face a few hurdles, but I’ve learned to work with them — not against them.

In Short

I’m Daniel — the IT guy who started with DOS, mastered Windows through every generation, embraced Linux systems, worked hands-on with SCCM in enterprise environments, and still finds technology just as fascinating as ever.
